HashRepos - A decentralized application (dApp) on the blockchain

1. Introduction

HashRepos is a dApp for storing hashes of Digital Assets on the blockchain. By registering the hash of a Digital Asset (which can be any digital file, for example legal and intellectual property documents, photos, scanned images, music, etc) you will be able verify a copy of the file and check for tampering.

This is useful to help you assert your intellectual property rights and establish existence of a digital asset at the time of registration by taking advantage of the immutable properties of the blockchain, the registration time stamp and the cryptographical attributes of the hash.

Using this dapp you may choose to register your digital asset on the time-proven Ethereum blockchain or choose a more economical route using the xDai blockchain.

If you are still unsure of how HashRepos works, you may choose the Rinkeby testnet for trial runs, using free Rinkeby tokens.

The HashRepos dApp works in the same way for all three blockchains. Ensure that the metamask wallet extension is installed for a supported desktop browser and funded.

Although registration is free for any of the blockchains, you will need to pay transaction fees (“gas”). Please ensure you have sufficient tokens for the respective networks (eth, xDai and rinkeby for Ethereum Mainnet, dDai Chain and Rinkeby testnet respectively).

When ready, simply select a file by clicking the Select File button below. Check the registration details, enter a description and click on Submit to complete the process.
